About

Quadratum is an auditioned ensemble for young people beginning from age 8. The core musics practiced include traditional Ghanaian drumming (lineage: A. Adzenyah, S. E. Nyamuame, J. Dankwa); South Indian Solkattu (lineage: D. Nelson, T. Vishwanathan); sung musics written prior to the 17th century; musics from the late 20th and early 21st centuries, and newly composed musics. Students realize and invent games that test deduction and cognition as pertains to sound relationships. Our members strive towards balance and strength in their physique and intellect. The older ensemble (upper high school and adult) focuses primarily on the sung pieces in the above categories. The performance ensemble comes out of the larger group and performs occasionally in both secular and sacred settings. To audition, to recommend a young person who enjoys rigorous doings, or for booking, write directors@quadratum.online.
